Oppo bowlers?

Anyone else on oppo bowl? I just threw a 214, 219, and 254 for a 687 series to start the second half of the season, which I'm pretty stoked about. Trying to get my average up to 210 by the end of the year (it's about 205 right now)

I used to bowl. I had an average around 170 in high school. High game of like 255 of something. Every now and then I bowl again, but not consistently enough to know what I'd average now. I wouldn't mind getting back into it.

I topped out at a 185 average at the end of high school. I've been averaging over 200 the last 3 years with a high score of 299 in practice, 279 in league. High series is 732

damn , 205 is badass . I used to work as a pinsetter mechanic . I learned to bowl watching 3 PBA bowlers that bowled at my center . I only averaged 170-175 in league back then , but I still love to bowl .

I learned from a hall of famer, Bill Lillard. My dad has been bowling since he was a kid too. I've gotten much better since I got out of school, before I graduated college I hadn't broken 250 and now I do it frequently.

Im at a point that's a bit frustrating though, my high score is 299 and I've come so close to 300 so many times it's maddening. I've thrown 279s this season. Even tonight while I was happy with it I missed a few dumb spares that kept me from a 700 series.

Wayne Webb , Mark Williams , and David Ozio all bowled at my center back in the 90s ... talk about lucky .

I go very, very rarely. It's a special occasion when I even break 100. I have fun regardless, though. It's cool watching the real bowlers in the other lanes, and it's also fun when I get bored and decide to push the ball backwards with my foot until I eventually manage to get a strike.

No kidding, must have been a blast to watch. Other than Lillard the only pro I've interacted with is Rhino Page. Page was actually a friend of a friend in college and my friend gave both of us a ride to the airport once. It was fun, Rhino's a funny guy

Sometimes I wish I could go back to the low 100 average days. Bowling was almost more fun back then, it was easier to be excited about doing well. I throw a 279 now and all I can think is shit, that one damn pin kept me from 300.

Nicely done. I got my average up above 200, and it was mission accomplished, so I stopped caring.

I can't stop caring at least a little bit. Not until I hit a perfect game.

Of course then an 800 series will be my next goal.

I average about 135. But randomly bowl 255s out of no where. Wild card! Going tonight or tomorrow snow be damned.

Sounds like you need to work on spares and learn how to adjust better to lane conditions. Averaging 135 usually means you're missing the pocket enough to not strike, and definitely not hitting most of your spares. Hitting 255 takes many strikes in a row

If by bowling you mean once in a blue moon, not good at all, and half the time use the bumpers because of a baby brother? Then yes, I bowl. Basically bowling for me is just fun with the family or a date night.

If you hit 80% of your spares your average should be 170.

Never bowled in a league, but I used to go once a week when my local alley had their "quarter-rama" night. It was $5 for shoes and each game was $0.25. I would roll about 30 games and walk out paying $12-$13. I did that for about 2 months with a personal best of 224 (which I tied once more). Not sure what my average was, but I would consistently hit over 170. My best streak was 6 in a row, which I am still pretty proud of.

That's not bad. I've hit 17 in a row, but across 2 games. Most I've hit in one game is 11, damn 299 game.

I got the 800 series last year. And I called a no-tap perfect game close enough.
